Fraser and Weisz Reunite on The Mummy Set
Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz have been photographed together on the London set of the upcoming Mummy film, reuniting the actors who played Rick O’Connell and Evelyn Carnahan in the first two installments. The set images, published October 14, show both performers in costume and wearing wedding rings. The photographs do not confirm details of the film’s plot or the characters’ circumstances. The film is widely referred to as The Mummy 4, although one report said it is officially listed as Untitled Mummy Project 2027. Fraser and Weisz last appeared together in the franchise’s 2001 sequel, The Mummy Returns. Weisz did not return for 2008’s The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, in which Maria Bello played Evelyn. The wedding rings visible in the new images have prompted speculation that Rick and Evelyn remain married in the sequel. That interpretation has not been confirmed by the filmmakers. No plot details have been disclosed, and the images alone do not establish what happens to the characters in the story. Several actors from earlier films are reported to be returning.
