Beatles Films Planned for April 2028 Cinema Release
Producer Pippa Harris said the four Beatles films directed by Sam Mendes are currently planned for a theatrical release in April 2028, giving audiences a month to watch the separate stories. She described possible viewing patterns, including seeing one film a week or watching films on successive weekends, but did not confirm a weekly release schedule. Harris discussed the plan at the BFI London Film Festival on October 12, 2026. She said the films are intended to reach cinemas during the same period and that the team hopes audiences will watch all four. She emphasized that viewers would not be expected to see the entire series in one day. The four features are designed as individual stories about each Beatles member, Harris said, while also gaining greater cumulative power when experienced together. The project’s four-film format puts each band member at the center of a separate movie rather than combining their stories into one biopic. Harris also said filming had reached day 180 when she spoke at the festival. The cast includes Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr.
