Warriors Say Porzingis Will Remain Out Indefinitely

Published 14 October 2026

The Golden State Warriors said Wednesday that Kristaps Porzingis will remain out indefinitely because of the health-related matter that has kept him out of training camp and preseason, leaving his return to play uncertain as the regular season approaches. Porzingis said in a social media post that he is working with doctors and experts and feels he is improving. He described the issue as difficult to pinpoint and said the situation had been frustrating. His comments are his own account; the team has not publicly identified the cause of his current absence. Coach Steve Kerr said Monday that Porzingis was expected at the Warriors’ facility Tuesday, Oct. 13, to meet with performance staff and discuss next steps. Kerr did not provide a further update or a playing timetable. The expected visit was described as a step toward assessing the situation, but no finding from that evaluation has been reported. Porzingis has previously discussed being diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, or POTS. The Warriors have not confirmed whether the current health-related matter is connected to that diagnosis.
