Bronny James Faces First Lakers Season Without LeBron

Bronny James is preparing for his first Los Angeles Lakers season without his father, LeBron James, after LeBron signed with the Philadelphia 76ers. The younger James said he is looking forward to the change and to finding out how teammates and staff treat him when his father is no longer on the same team. Speaking to reporters at Lakers media day, Bronny described the season as a different experience. He said he and his father had spent nearly 22 years together and that he was excited to see how the season would feel without LeBron in the locker room. Bronny also said he wants to build his own career and continue developing as a player. The Lakers drafted Bronny in the second round in 2024, and he played alongside his father during his first two NBA seasons. LeBron’s move to Philadelphia ends that on-court partnership for now. The teams are scheduled to meet on Christmas Day in Los Angeles, giving the father and son a chance to play against each other during the regular season. Bronny said he and LeBron had few conversations about the decision to sign with Philadelphia, describing them as men who do not say much to each other about business.
