Warriors beat Lakers 101-89 as Kerr flags execution
The Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 101-89 in a preseason game in Las Vegas on Tuesday, October 13, but coach Steve Kerr said his team’s offensive execution remained scattered as it prepared for the regular season. Golden State came back after falling behind early, capitalizing on Lakers turnovers to secure the win at T-Mobile Arena. The Lakers built a lead of as many as 20 points before the Warriors worked their way back into the game and finished strongly. Austin Reaves led Los Angeles with 28 points, seven assists and four rebounds. The Lakers committed 30 turnovers, which the game account said led to 26 Golden State points. Walker Kessler, making his preseason debut, had 11 points and nine rebounds in the first half as Los Angeles built its early advantage. Brandin Podziemski and Gui Santos were among the Warriors who contributed during the decisive stages. Despite the result, Kerr said Golden State was not close to the level it wanted to reach. He said the team was working on the right things and had a clear vision, but that its execution was scattered and would require continued work.
