Rockstar releases Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer
Rockstar Games released the launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI on October 15, offering new cinematic scenes with protagonists Jason and Lucia and outlining the game’s crime-centered story. The 90-second trailer features the song “Flower in a Hurricane,” credited to Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. The trailer opens with Jason discussing his military past before he receives a call from Lucia. It moves through scenes of the pair together, including a shower, a club and a rooftop leap into a swimming pool, alongside action involving helicopters, police and apparent criminal missions. The footage emphasizes the characters and setting rather than explaining specific gameplay mechanics. Rockstar’s trailer description says Jason and Lucia are drawn into a criminal conspiracy across the fictional state of Leonida after an easy score goes wrong. It says the two must rely on each other to survive. Lucia is shown wearing an ankle monitor, while Jason appears in scenes wearing tactical gear and carrying weapons. The trailer also shows Vice City, the game’s fictionalized version of Miami, and a helicopter crashing into a building.
