Nintendo Says GTA 6 on Switch 2 Is Take-Two’s Decision

Published 9 October 2026

Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard said a possible Grand Theft Auto 6 version for Switch 2 would be a matter for Take-Two and Rockstar, adding that Nintendo had nothing to announce. Her remarks do not confirm that a port is being considered or planned. Pritchard made the comments in an interview published October 9. Asked about the prospect of the game coming to Nintendo’s latest console, she said the issue was “a conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar” and that she had “nothing to announce” from Nintendo. Take-Two is the game’s parent company, and Rockstar is its developer. The confirmed launch platforms are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026. No Switch 2 version has been announced in the supplied information, and Pritchard’s response did not establish whether Rockstar or Take-Two is evaluating one. Pritchard also described Nintendo’s approach to the games available on its systems as welcoming a range of experiences, including titles for older audiences. That general position does not amount to a commitment to bring Grand Theft Auto 6 to Switch 2.
