Rockstar Previews Six GTA VI Radio Stations and Podcasts

Rockstar Games has previewed six radio stations for Grand Theft Auto VI and announced that players will be able to listen to radio and on-demand podcasts while walking, using headphones or earbuds connected to characters’ smartphones. The October 8 announcement outlines new ways audio will feature in the game, but does not establish that the six stations are the complete lineup. The stations cover modern Latin music, country, African music, classic metal, pop and Southern hip-hop. They are Cocoteo FM, Back Country Radio, AfroBank FM, The Chamber 106.6, Flash FM and Dirty South Classics. Rockstar presented them as an initial preview of the game’s radio offerings. The portable listening feature applies to protagonists Jason and Lucia, according to Rockstar. The company says they can listen to both radio and podcasts on foot as well as in vehicles. The announcement describes the podcasts as on-demand, but does not provide a catalogue or details about programs, episode lengths or playback controls. The station descriptions identify hosts and musical styles. Cocoteo FM features Latin genres including bachata, merengue, dembow and reggaeton.
