Rivian Rolls Out Ghostbusters Halloween Mode
Rivian has introduced a Ghostbusters-themed Halloween software experience for its electric vehicles, with the seasonal features scheduled to remain available through November 2, 2026. The company also says it has built themed R1S vehicles for displays at retail locations and events. The over-the-air update, called Halloween Mode, is scheduled to be available from October 9 through November 2. Rivian describes it as adding themed lighting, sounds, screens and games, with some functions controlled through the company’s mobile app. The rollout is scheduled, but the reports do not establish how many vehicles have received the update. When activated, the experience can replace parts of the vehicle interface with Ghostbusters-themed displays and minigames. Rivian says drivers can trigger a light-and-sound sequence that plays the film’s theme song while the vehicle is parked. The mobile app can also control some effects remotely. Reports describe features such as motion-triggered displays and custom lock sounds, though the available options vary by vehicle generation. The update includes characters and visual details across the cabin screens.
