Jaguar unveils electric Type 01 grand tourer

Jaguar has unveiled the production-ready Type 01, an all-electric four-seat grand tourer that the company describes as its most powerful road car and the first major expression of its redesigned brand direction. The car retains the long, low proportions of the Type 00 concept shown in 2024, with four doors, a short cabin and a distinctive rear without a conventional window. The Type 01 uses three electric motors, one at the front and two at the rear, for all-wheel drive. Jaguar lists output at about 1,016 horsepower, although published figures vary. The company says the car can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds. These are manufacturer specifications rather than independently verified performance results. Jaguar says the car’s 118-kilowatt-hour battery provides up to 450 miles of range under the European WLTP test cycle. That figure is not directly comparable with estimates based on other measures or driving conditions. A report citing sustained highway driving estimated a lower range, while another gave an EPA-cycle estimate.
