Tesla Q3 Deliveries Beat Estimates but Fall 2.1% Year Over Year

Published 2 October 2026

Tesla reported 486,532 vehicle deliveries in the third quarter of 2026, beating analyst expectations but falling 2.1% short of the record set a year earlier. The company also reported production of 464,391 vehicles, leaving deliveries 22,141 higher than output during the quarter. Tesla’s delivery total exceeded the 461,974 average in the company’s compilation of analyst estimates by 24,558 vehicles. A separate estimate set cited an average of 463,761, underscoring that the benchmark varies by source. The reported deliveries were 1.3% above the 480,126 vehicles delivered in the second quarter of 2026. Model 3 and Model Y deliveries totaled 478,237, Tesla said. Other models accounted for 8,295 deliveries. The company did not provide a regional breakdown in the reports, so the figures do not show how deliveries were distributed among markets. The year-earlier comparison was against 497,099 deliveries in the third quarter of 2025, Tesla’s record for a quarter. Reports noted that the period had been boosted by buyers seeking to qualify for a U.S. federal electric-vehicle tax credit before it expired on September 30, 2025.
