Mercedes-Benz to drop three models from 2027 U.S. lineup

Published 3 October 2026

Mercedes-Benz will remove the EQE sedan, including its AMG version, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV and the Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance from its U.S. lineup for the 2027 model year, according to a spokesperson’s confirmation relayed in reports. The three models include two electric vehicles and a plug-in hybrid. The EQE sedan is being discontinued in both standard and AMG forms. The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 is the specified version of the EQS SUV being dropped; the standard Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan and SUV are reported to remain available. The S63 E Performance, a high-performance plug-in hybrid sedan, is also slated to leave the lineup. The confirmation concerns the U.S. lineup and the 2027 model year. The reports do not establish whether Mercedes-Benz has issued a public lineup document or formal announcement independently confirming the changes. They also do not identify a company-confirmed reason for the retirements. Some accounts suggest the cuts reflect a broader effort to streamline the range and bring electric models closer in appearance to gasoline-powered vehicles.
