Polestar 4 SUV launches with rear window and lower price

Polestar has launched the Polestar 4 SUV, a more practical variant of its bestselling electric coupe that reintroduces a conventional rear window and offers increased cargo space at a lower starting price. The new model, which began its rollout in Europe on September 2, 2026, is designed to broaden the appeal of the Polestar 4 line and compete directly with rivals like the BMW iX3 and Volvo EX60. The most significant change is the adoption of a boxier, estate-like rear end that reinstates a traditional glass rear window, a feature omitted from the controversial coupe version. This addresses a major point of customer feedback and improves rear visibility. A rear wiper with a built-in washer is now included, though buyers can still opt for the digital rearview camera system if preferred. The redesigned body also boosts practicality, increasing boot capacity to 530 litres, which is 30 litres more than the coupe. With the rear seats folded, total cargo space, including the front trunk, reaches 1,665 litres. The SUV is priced from £54,750 in the United Kingdom, undercutting the equivalent Polestar 4 coupe by £2,000.
