De Luca and Abdy Expected to Leave Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. film chiefs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy are expected to leave the studio after Paramount’s merger with Warner Bros. Discovery closes, according to reports citing people familiar with the matter. The merger was expected to close October 6, but the executives’ last day and whether they will stay through a transition have not been confirmed. The planned leadership arrangement would put Paramount film co-chairs Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein in charge of both studios’ film operations under David Ellison, who is set to lead the combined company. De Luca and Abdy are not expected to join Ellison’s management team, the reports said. Paramount and Warner Bros. had not publicly confirmed the executives’ departures in the accounts provided. One report said Ellison spoke with De Luca and Abdy on October 2 to tell them they would leave. Another account, citing a source familiar with the situation, said Paramount leadership had not informed the pair of the plan. The timing of any conversation and the executives’ final day remain unclear; the accounts do not establish whether they will work through a handover.
