Peugeot unveils electric ET16 rally tribute concept
Peugeot has unveiled the ET16, an all-electric concept car inspired by its 205 T16 rally model, ahead of the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The company says the car marks 40 years since the 205 T16 won consecutive World Rally Championship titles in 1985 and 1986. Peugeot has not confirmed plans to put the ET16 into production. The concept uses three electric motors, one at the front and two at the rear, with a combined output Peugeot lists at 816 horsepower. The company says it can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reach 300 km/h from a standstill in 16 seconds. Peugeot describes it as its most powerful model to date. Peugeot also says the ET16 has an 85-kilowatt-hour battery and an 800-volt electrical system, giving it a claimed WLTP range of up to 400 kilometers. Under suitable conditions, charging from 10% to 80% takes less than 15 minutes, according to the company. To address performance during sustained driving, Peugeot says a side-cooling system manages battery heat by cooling the cells along their sides. The company claims the system allows the car to complete three laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife without a reduction in power.
