Jack Singleton joins Glasgow Warriors after cardiac event
Glasgow Warriors have signed hooker Jack Singleton on a short-term deal, giving the England international a route back to professional rugby after a year away following a cardiac event. Singleton has recently resumed full training, but has not set a date for a competitive return. The 30-year-old joined the Glasgow squad after leaving Gloucester, where he suffered the event while training in September 2025. Glasgow said the signing would provide cover at hooker, particularly during international periods when Gregor Hiddleston and Seb Stephen are likely to be involved with Scotland. Singleton said he began feeling unwell during training and was taken to hospital after his symptoms worsened. He said doctors later identified a hereditary condition that his family had not known about. He described undergoing procedures that included the insertion of stents and balloons to help open his arteries, and said medication and treatment had brought his condition under greater control. He said he initially feared he might not be allowed to play again. According to Singleton, clinicians later discussed a possible return with him and supported his efforts to resume rugby.
