Gears of War: E-Day starts early access with season plan
Gears of War: E-Day has begun early access for Premium Edition owners, and developer The Coalition has outlined a multiplayer plan that includes three limited-time events in its first season and at least five postlaunch seasons overall. The prequel’s full release is scheduled for October 6 on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The Coalition’s Season 1, titled Emergence, is planned to run through December 1, 2026. It will include three two-week events: Halloween, 20 Years of Gears and Thanksgibbing. Each is set to feature a Versus event mode, a Horde Siege mission and limited-time rewards. The studio has announced a second season, Legacy, for a later date, with content themed around the franchise’s 20th anniversary, but has not specified when it will begin. The game’s multiplayer update also includes changes informed by beta feedback. The Coalition says the launch patch adjusts weapons and adds options including an FOV slider, improved HDR calibration, unlimited frame rates on PC and the ability to disable film grain. The studio described these as part of its effort to refine the launch experience.
