Zaslav Thanks WBD Staff Ahead of Scheduled Paramount Sale

Published 5 October 2026

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav addressed employees in a farewell video on October 5, thanking them for their work as the company prepared for its scheduled sale to Paramount the following day. The transaction is expected to mark the end of Zaslav’s tenure at WBD; the reports describe the October 6 closing as planned, not completed. In the roughly three-minute video, recorded at the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California, Zaslav praised employees’ creativity, craftsmanship and collaboration. He recalled the stories, characters, games, journalism and sports programming they had produced, and said he was grateful for his years at Warner Bros. Discovery. He also told staff he hoped they would take pride in what they had built and said he looked forward to seeing what they did in the years ahead. The video was shared through the company’s internal portal. It showed Zaslav speaking from a director’s chair before moving to a montage of material from the company’s history. Employees told one publication that the photographs emphasized awards shows, red carpets and stars Zaslav had encountered during his time at the company.
