Xbox Design Lab leak details unannounced Elite Series 3
Microsoft has not announced an Xbox Elite Series 3 controller, but records reportedly found in the Xbox Design Lab backend describe a customizable device under the codename Edessa. The material, shared by a Reddit user and later removed from public view, suggests a successor with new stick technologies, upgraded haptics and several configuration options. The specifications remain unconfirmed. The reported listings identify Hall-effect and tunnel magnetoresistance, or TMR, thumbstick options. Both use magnetic sensing rather than the physical contact used in conventional analogue sticks, according to the descriptions accompanying the leak. The records also reportedly include sticks with different resistance levels and a low-friction “silent” option. Whether customers could select among all these options, and which configuration would be standard, is not established. Other listed features include advanced haptics, impulse-trigger feedback and an audio scroll wheel. The controller is also described as offering replaceable faceplates, multiple D-pad designs and a wider choice of paddle shapes and layouts.
