United Draw With Tottenham as Shaw Fitness Concern Emerges

Published 12 October 2026

Manchester United drew 1-1 with Tottenham at Old Trafford on Saturday, October 10, as Dominic Solanke scored a late equaliser for the 10-man visitors. The result left United without a win in four matches across all competitions, while a post-match limp by Luke Shaw prompted concern about the defender’s fitness ahead of their Champions League match against Atletico Madrid. No supplied report confirmed that Shaw was injured or established whether he would be available. Bryan Mbeumo put United ahead in the 73rd minute, finishing from close range after a pass from Matheus Cunha. Tottenham’s task became harder five minutes later when Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off following an altercation with Shaw. Solanke headed in Sandro Tonali’s cross in the closing moments to earn Tottenham a point. Shaw remained on the pitch after the incident and was replaced by Ayden Heaven in the 95th minute. Footage and photographs taken outside Old Trafford after the final whistle showed Shaw appearing to limp as he left the stadium. The images raised questions about his condition, but did not establish that he had sustained an injury.
