Carrick says Dorgu out for weeks ahead of Tottenham match
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick said Patrick Dorgu will be sidelined for a number of weeks and Benjamin Sesko is not ready to return, as he outlined squad concerns ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. Carrick said Dorgu came off with an injury and would be out for a number of weeks. Sesko, who is also injured, is further away from a return, the manager said. The updates came at a press conference on Friday, October 9. Carlos Baleba has trained extensively and is improving, Carrick said, but he did not confirm whether the midfielder would be available against Tottenham. Baleba has yet to make his Manchester United debut. Carrick also said Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo had done some training, without confirming their availability for the match. Noussair Mazraoui took a knock while on international duty and was not quite right, Carrick said, adding that the club would assess him. Another team update said Matthijs de Ligt and Manuel Ugarte remained sidelined, while goalkeeper Karl Darlow and Tom Heaton faced late fitness tests. United have had a difficult start to the league season.
