Strategy Buys 250 BTC and Repurchases $192M in STRC
Strategy said it acquired 250 bitcoin for about $21.5 million between October 5 and 11, bringing its holdings to 848,250 BTC, while also repurchasing about $192 million of its STRC preferred shares. The company reported holding $5.5 billion in U.S. dollar assets as of October 11. The purchase was made at an average price of $86,194 per bitcoin, including fees and expenses, according to the company’s disclosed figures. Strategy’s cumulative bitcoin holdings have an average acquisition price of $75,444 per BTC, with total investment of about $64 billion. The share repurchase involved 1,932,145 shares of Strategy’s variable-rate Series A perpetual preferred stock, known as STRC, for approximately $192.4 million. The company said $354.8 million remained available under its preferred-stock repurchase program. Its October 11 dollar-asset total comprised $4.88 billion in reserves and $640.5 million in additional cash. The two actions show Strategy continuing to add bitcoin while buying back preferred shares and maintaining substantial dollar assets. The reported repurchase amount was nearly nine times the cost of the bitcoin purchase.
