Meanwhile Raises $37.5 Million in Bain-Led Round

Meanwhile, a Bermuda-based insurer offering life policies denominated in Bitcoin, has raised $37.5 million in a funding round led by Bain Capital Crypto. The company said the financing brings its total funding to more than $180 million. Existing investors Haun Ventures, Framework Ventures, Pantera Capital, Apollo, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures and Morgan Creek Digital also participated, according to the announcement. The company says the capital will support its international expansion. Meanwhile has signed 15 brokers serving affluent clients since launching its international offering, according to company-reported figures. It has cited clients in markets including Singapore, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland. Lioner and Apeiron Group are among the broker partners named in the announcement. Meanwhile launched BTC Life 1Pay in early 2026 for clients outside the United States. The company describes it as a whole-life policy funded with a single Bitcoin premium and providing a lifetime death benefit denominated in Bitcoin. Policy values also grow in Bitcoin, according to the company.
