PepsiCo plans snack and soda price increases

Published 9 October 2026

PepsiCo plans single-digit price increases on certain snacks and sodas, including Doritos, Ruffles and SunChips, as it contends with higher costs and weaker North American performance. The company said the new prices will remain below levels at the start of the year, following price cuts earlier in 2026. The planned increases come after PepsiCo lowered prices on some products, including Lay’s and Doritos, by as much as 15% in February. Chief Executive Ramon Laguarta said those reductions brought some consumers back, but the company’s recovery in North America is taking longer than expected. PepsiCo has not disclosed the exact increases for the products affected. In the July-September quarter, North American Frito-Lay snack volumes were flat compared with a year earlier, while beverage volumes fell 2%, according to PepsiCo’s results. The company cited rising costs for fuel, aluminum and agricultural commodities as reasons for the price changes. It also said a $178 million government tariff refund helped offset costs in the recent quarter but would not be available in coming quarters. PepsiCo reported third-quarter revenue of $25.27 billion, up 5.
