Saylor Signals Potential New Strategy Bitcoin Purchase
Strategy Inc. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor has sparked speculation about a potential new Bitcoin purchase for the company after posting a social media message widely interpreted as a signal. On September 20, 2026, Saylor shared a chart of the firm's Bitcoin holdings on X with the caption "A little more orange," a phrase observers note he has used before prior to confirmed acquisitions. The post comes after a two-week pause in Bitcoin buying activity. According to a September 14 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Strategy's holdings remained unchanged at 845,050 BTC from September 8 through September 13. The filing confirmed the total acquisition cost for those holdings was approximately $63.73 billion, representing an average price of about $75,412 per coin. During that same period, the company directed its cash reserves toward a different financial activity. Strategy repurchased approximately $174 million of its STRC preferred stock, pushing the total buybacks under that program past $1.12 billion. The company disclosed this transaction around September 21, 2026.
