Strategy Buys 950 Bitcoin After Pause, Holdings Reach 846,000 BTC
Strategy has resumed its Bitcoin accumulation program after a multi-week pause, purchasing 950 BTC for $75.7 million between September 14 and 20, 2026. The acquisition, disclosed in a regulatory filing on Monday, brings the company's total Bitcoin holdings to 846,000 BTC, acquired at a cumulative cost of approximately $63.8 billion. The purchase was funded entirely from the company's USD Cash balance, not from its USD Reserve or through share sales. The average price paid was $79,670 per coin, which was below the market price of Bitcoin at the time of the filing. The transaction ended a period of inactivity that lasted roughly two to three weeks, during which the company had focused on repurchasing its preferred stock. Alongside the Bitcoin purchase, Strategy used $174 million from its USD Cash to repurchase approximately 1.77 million shares of its STRC preferred stock. This amount was more than double the capital allocated to Bitcoin in the same week. The company reported no sales under its at-the-market offering programs during the September 14-20 period. As of September 20, Strategy's USD Cash balance stood at $1.05 billion, down from $1.30 billion a week earlier.
