Saleh backs Cam Ward after Titans fall to 0-4

Published 5 October 2026

Tennessee Titans coach Robert Saleh publicly reaffirmed his confidence in quarterback Cam Ward after the team fell to 0-4 with a 24-18 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on October 4. Saleh said he sees progress in Ward and expects the second-year quarterback to become a very good player, even as Tennessee’s repeated mistakes continue to cost the team. Ward completed 20 of 31 passes for 222 yards, one touchdown and one interception against Baltimore, and ran for 27 yards. Saleh described it as Ward’s best game of the season, citing his movement, plays outside the structure of the offense and ability to remain in the pocket. The coach said the team has the utmost confidence in him and urged patience as he develops. The loss left Tennessee winless through four games for the second consecutive season. Saleh said turnovers, poorly timed penalties and technical errors have prevented the Titans from winning. In Baltimore, two turnovers led to 10 Ravens points, according to the game account. A second-quarter turnover on downs was followed by a 98-yard Baltimore touchdown drive, a sequence reported as a 14-point swing.
