Loop’s final-play kick lifts Ravens past Cowboys 34-31

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Dallas Cowboys 34-31 in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday after Tyler Loop made a 56-yard field goal on the final play, completing a decisive seven-second sequence set up by Lamar Jackson’s pass to Zay Flowers. Dallas had tied the score at 31 with a 23-yard field goal by Brandon Aubrey and left Baltimore seven seconds. Jackson completed a 27-yard pass to Flowers, who went down near the Dallas 38-yard line. Jackson called a timeout, leaving one second for Loop’s attempt. Loop converted from 56 yards for the victory. The finish followed a back-and-forth game in which Dallas led 28-24 late in the fourth quarter. Baltimore moved ahead 31-28 on Jackson’s two-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Matt Hibner with 1:30 remaining. Dallas then drove into scoring position, but after a pass-interference penalty put the Cowboys near the goal line, they did not score a touchdown and settled for Aubrey’s tying kick. Baltimore had held a 24-13 lead in the third quarter. Dallas narrowed the margin with a 19-yard touchdown reception by Jake Ferguson and a two-point conversion caught by CeeDee Lamb, then took the lead on KaVontae Turpin’s nine-yard touchdown run.
