Lamb’s late touchdown lifts Cowboys over Texans 34-30

The Dallas Cowboys erased a 10-point halftime deficit and beat the Houston Texans 34-30 on Sunday, October 4, when CeeDee Lamb caught Dak Prescott’s 12-yard touchdown pass with 40 seconds remaining. The loss left Houston 0-4, while Dallas improved to 2-2. Houston led 16-6 at halftime after quarterback C.J. Stroud connected with Nico Collins for a touchdown and kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn made three field goals. The Texans had outgained Dallas 204-121 in the first half, while the Cowboys missed two long field-goal attempts. Dallas responded after the break, with running back Javonte Williams scoring three touchdowns in the second half. His scores helped put the Cowboys ahead 27-23 with about 11 minutes left. Houston regained the lead when Woody Marks ran for a touchdown with 2:23 remaining, capping a drive that included a third-and-14 hook-and-ladder play. Dalton Schultz caught a short pass and lateraled to David Montgomery, who gained 19 yards to set up the score. Prescott then led Dallas on an 11-play, 74-yard drive. The possession included a fourth-down conversion and ended with his pass to Lamb, who secured the winning points. Stroud’s final pass fell incomplete.
