Commanders QB Jayden Daniels Injured in Cowboys Game

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a left elbow injury and was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. The injury occurred on the final play of the first half with three seconds remaining, as the Commanders attempted to score from the Dallas 1-yard line. Daniels' left foot was stepped on by a teammate, causing him to lose his balance. He attempted to brace his fall with his left arm, resulting in an apparent elbow injury. He was carted off the field and taken to the locker room, with his head covered by a towel. The Cowboys led 17-10 at halftime when the injury took place. Daniels had been effective before the injury, completing 11 of 17 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 69 yards on seven carries. The Commanders had narrowed the deficit after trailing 10-0, with Daniels throwing a 4-yard touchdown to Stefon Diggs and kicker Drew Stevens making a 27-yard field goal. Daniels, 25, has a history with left elbow injuries. He dislocated the same elbow during the 2025 season, an injury that caused him to miss all but one game in the second half of that year.
