Razer Debuts Basilisk V4 Mice and Charging Dock
Razer announced three products in its Basilisk V4 gaming-mouse line on October 8: the Basilisk V4 Pro, the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed and the Mouse Dock V2 Pro. The company listed the mice at $169.99 and $109.99, respectively, and the dock at $69.99. The Pro is the flagship model, with 14 customizable controls, a new tilt scroll wheel and a sensor rated at up to 50,000 DPI. Razer says it supports polling rates of up to 8,000 Hz in both wired and wireless modes, and that its battery lasts up to 200 hours using HyperSpeed Wireless Gen2 at 1,000 Hz or 275 hours over Bluetooth 6.2. Those are company specifications; a reviewer who tested a Razer-provided unit said there had not been enough time to verify the maximum battery life. The Pro also includes Perfect 180, an assignable control that Razer says turns a player’s aim 180 degrees with one press. The company describes the feature as intended for low-sensitivity gaming. Its potential effect on competitive play remains unestablished, though it has drawn attention as a feature that could be contentious.
