Unity Announces Spark AI Game-Creation Platform
Unity has announced Spark, a browser-based game-creation platform designed to help people build and refine interactive projects with natural-language prompts, without prior game-development experience. The company says the tool is intended to make creation more accessible while keeping users involved in shaping and improving what they make. Spark is planned as a more advanced experience connected to Google’s Playground, an experimental platform that lets users create and customize games through prompts. Google and Unity say Spark will be integrated with Playground later in 2026. Playground is currently available to people aged 18 and older, while Spark is in development and is not yet broadly available. Unity describes Spark as a process for developing an idea rather than generating a finished game with a single instruction. Users are expected to start with prompts and then refine their projects in a browser-based editor. Unity CEO Matt Bromberg has said the aim is to help people create, polish and share original interactive experiences, with human decisions and iteration remaining central.
