Hellraiser Revival launches with praise and gameplay criticism

Published 8 October 2026

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival was released on October 8 as a single-player survival horror game, bringing the film franchise into a full-length video game for the first time. Developed and published by Saber Interactive, the game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. The PlayStation Store listed its Standard Edition at $39.99. The story follows Aidan, who tries to rescue his girlfriend, Sunny, after the pair activate a puzzle box called the Genesis Configuration and draw the attention of Pinhead and the Cenobites. Players move between the human world and the Labyrinth, using stealth, weapons, environmental objects and supernatural abilities to overcome enemies and solve puzzles. The game is designed for one player rather than online multiplayer. Reviews published on release day found common strengths in the game’s visual design and its use of the Hellraiser setting, but differed over whether its story and overall experience delivered. One reviewer praised the narrative and atmosphere, while another found the characters and emotional stakes underdeveloped.
