Resident Evil Requiem DLC to Further Develop Spencer’s Story

Published 8 October 2026

Resident Evil Requiem writer Haris Orkin said the game’s planned story expansion will further develop the arc of Oswell E. Spencer, a central figure in the series’ history. Orkin made the remark during an interview at Meadowlark Comic Con, then acknowledged that he probably should not have revealed the detail. Orkin said he is working on the downloadable content with Capcom. In discussing Spencer’s story in Requiem, he said players would understand the character further in the expansion. His comments offer a limited indication of the story’s direction, but do not establish what events it will depict or how Spencer will feature. Spencer, a co-founder of the fictional Umbrella Corporation, has been portrayed as a major antagonist in the Resident Evil series. Requiem develops his character through the main game’s story, and Orkin’s remarks suggest the expansion will continue that exploration. They do not confirm whether the DLC will depict Spencer in the past, use flashbacks, or show him in another way. Capcom has not announced a release date for the expansion in the information available from Orkin’s interview.
