Quiles clinches Moto3 title with Indonesian Grand Prix win

Published 11 October 2026

Máximo Quiles won the Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika on October 11, securing the Moto3 world championship with his tenth victory of the season. David Almansa finished second and Brian Uriarte third, completing the podium. The result gave Quiles his first Moto3 title. He had entered the Indonesian race with another opportunity to clinch the championship after missing his chance at Motegi, according to race reporting. Quiles took the lead during the opening laps and held it to the finish, crossing the line nearly three seconds ahead of Almansa. Almansa, who had been Quiles’s closest rival in the championship, recovered from dropping back early in the race to take second. He was more than two and a half seconds behind Quiles by Lap 6 and could not close the gap in the closing laps. The second-place finish left him runner-up in the championship. Uriarte, who started from pole position, recovered from a difficult start to finish third. Matteo Bertelle was fourth, followed by Rico Salmela and Veda Pratama. A collision involving Alvaro Carpe and Adrian Fernandez at Turn 10 forced Carpe to retire, according to the race report.
