Raul Fernandez takes first MotoGP pole at Mandalika
Raul Fernandez secured the first MotoGP pole position of his career at Mandalika on Saturday, setting a 128.852-second lap to lead qualifying for the Indonesian Grand Prix. Marco Bezzecchi was second, 0.109 seconds behind, with Fabio Di Giannantonio completing the front row in third. The result puts Fernandez at the front of the grid for the race after five years in the premier class. Marc Marquez qualified fourth and championship leader Jorge Martin fifth, leaving both outside the front row. Fermin Aldeguer took sixth, followed by Ai Ogura in seventh, Alex Marquez in eighth, Pedro Acosta in ninth and Francesco Bagnaia in 10th. Fernandez’s lap held through the closing stages of qualifying. Bezzecchi was the closest challenger, while Di Giannantonio secured third. The session’s final moments included yellow flags after Aldeguer crashed, interrupting riders’ attempts to improve their times. Toprak Razgatlioglu qualified 19th after a shoulder dislocation in a crash during final practice. Reports differed on whether it was his left or right shoulder.
