Bezzecchi leads Márquez and Martín in Indonesian GP practice

Published 9 October 2026

Marco Bezzecchi set the fastest time in the opening practice session for the Indonesian Grand Prix on Friday, leading title contenders Marc Márquez and Jorge Martín at the Mandalika circuit. Bezzecchi recorded a lap of 1:30.132. Márquez was second, 0.237 seconds behind, and Martín placed third, 0.266 seconds off the pace. The session order put the three riders at the centre of the championship battle near the top of the timesheets, but practice results do not determine the outcome of the race or title fight. Pedro Acosta finished fourth, 0.294 seconds behind Bezzecchi, and Raul Fernandez took fifth. Franco Morbidelli was sixth, Fabio Di Giannantonio seventh and Fabio Quartararo eighth. Fermin Aldeguer and Alex Márquez completed the top 10. Francesco Bagnaia finished 13th, nearly a second behind Bezzecchi. Ai Ogura crashed and ended the session 21st. Fermin Aldeguer and Diogo Moreira also crashed, according to the session report. The practice came as Martín and Márquez continued their contest for the championship lead. Reports put Martín two points ahead of Márquez entering the Indonesian round.
