Oasis Reunion Documentary Premieres at Venice

A new documentary capturing the reunion of feuding brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher of the band Oasis is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Titled "Oasis: Don't Look Back In Anger," the film documents the band's highly anticipated reunion tour, which took place last year, marking the first time the brothers had performed together in over 15 years. The documentary, codirected by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, features the brothers' first joint interviews in two decades. Steven Knight, known for "Peaky Blinders" and writing the new James Bond movie, served as writer and producer for the film. He described the project as being about "reconciliation, redemption, and forgiveness," noting the brothers' reserved approach to reconnecting. According to Knight, upon Liam Gallagher's return to rehearsals, his initial interaction with his brother was a curt instruction about a drum setup, followed by an immediate launch into playing music. Filmmakers Southern and Lovelace employed a discreet filming approach, using hidden cameras during rehearsals and a larger setup during live performances to capture the genuine dynamic between the Gallaghers.
