WWE Hosts First Sunday Night Main Event

WWE is set to host its first-ever Sunday Night's Main Event special on September 6, 2026, from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The event marks a significant shift for the promotion, moving the franchise special from its traditional Saturday broadcast window to a Sunday for a special Labor Day weekend presentation. The card features a variety of matchups, including the highly anticipated in-ring debut of recording artist Lil Yachty. Originally planned as a musical performance, plans were revised to a wrestling match against current United States Champion Baron Corbin. This "Five-Minute Challenge" will see Lil Yachty needing to survive the time limit against Corbin. If he succeeds, his associate and former US Champion Trick Williams will earn a title rematch against Corbin, who defeated Williams for the championship at SummerSlam 2026. Lil Yachty has been a regular presence on WWE programming since March, serving as a manager for Williams and has reportedly been training for his debut. Another marquee bout pits two of WWE's highly regarded prospects, Oba Femi and Bron Breakker, against each other in what is billed as a first-time encounter.
