Natarajan Returns to SRH in Trade for Ansari
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals have completed a player trade ahead of the 2027 Indian Premier League season, with T Natarajan returning to SRH and legspinner Zeeshan Ansari moving to Delhi. The clubs’ announcement put Natarajan’s contract fee at ₹5 crore and Ansari’s at ₹40 lakh, his existing fee. The move brings Natarajan back to the franchise where he played five IPL seasons from 2020 through 2024. Delhi signed the left-arm fast bowler for ₹10.75 crore at the 2025 auction; his new SRH fee is about 53.5% lower. The announcement did not explain the reasons for the revised amount or the trade. Natarajan played two matches for Delhi in the 2025 season, according to reports. His strongest IPL campaign with SRH came in 2024, when he took 19 wickets in 14 matches. His return gives Hyderabad a familiar pace option as the teams prepare for the next season. Ansari made his IPL debut with SRH in 2025, appearing in 10 matches and taking six wickets. His move gives Delhi another spin option. The trade changes the bowling personnel of both teams, with a fast bowler moving to Hyderabad and a wristspinner joining Delhi.
