PCB Sets PSL 12 for March 18 to May 2, 2027

The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that the 12th Pakistan Super League will run from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with all eight franchises returning for a second consecutive season in the expanded format. The dates were finalized after consultations with franchise owners and representatives at a PSL Governing Council meeting in London on September 1. The schedule keeps the tournament in its March-to-May window, rather than moving it to January, as had been discussed. The PSL period is expected to overlap with the Indian Premier League, but the IPL’s 2027 dates had not been officially announced in the reporting available on October 8. One report expected the IPL to begin in March and finish in late May or June. The extent of any overlap, and its effect on player availability, therefore remains prospective. The shared window could complicate recruitment of overseas players, whose availability may depend on other commitments and their home boards. Reports also raised the possibility that players may prioritize the IPL, but no confirmed PSL player availability for 2027 was provided.
