Hardik Pandya to miss Australia A and New Zealand series

Hardik Pandya is set to miss India A’s three-match one-day series against Australia A and the New Zealand tour after scans showed a fresh injury to his right shin, according to reports citing a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) source and other reporting. The injury delays the allrounder’s planned return to competitive cricket, with no firm date set for his comeback. The Australia A series is scheduled to begin October 6, while the New Zealand T20I series is due to start October 22. Pandya had been selected for the India A squad after selectors set September 20 as his Return To Play date. Reports say the shin problem rules him out of the Australia A matches and prevents his participation in the New Zealand tour. A BCCI source told PTI that Pandya’s latest scans revealed the injury and that he had been advised to take complete rest for two weeks. The source said medical panel head Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala would assess him after returning from Japan and decide when rehabilitation could begin. That assessment has not yet established a rehabilitation schedule or a return date.
