New Zealand reshapes ODI squad as India series nears

Published 3 November 2026

New Zealand will begin its five-match ODI series against India on November 4 with Tim Seifert added for the full tour after Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra were ruled out. India has also altered its squad, replacing injured fast bowler Prasidh Krishna with Auqib Nabi for the series. New Zealand Cricket confirmed the exclusions and Seifert’s expanded availability on November 2. Chapman is recovering from a hamstring injury and Ravindra from a shoulder problem. Henry Nicholls is included for the first three matches, while Dean Foxcroft is called up for the final two. The opening match is scheduled for Eden Park in Auckland, followed by games in Wellington on November 7, Hamilton on November 10, and Mount Maunganui on November 13 and 15. The series is scheduled to conclude November 15. New Zealand’s Devon Conway was ruled out of the opening ODI after a collision with Matt Henry during a training session at Eden Park. Conway was taken to hospital for assessment. Henry, who sustained a low-grade tear in his right quadriceps, is also a doubt for the opener; team management plans to assess his readiness. These injury details were reported without a named medical or team statement....
