Pakistan Champions’ WCL status unclear amid NOC dispute

Published 5 October 2026

Pakistan Champions’ participation in the 2026 World Championship of Legends remains uncertain after its October 3 match against Bangladesh Champions was postponed and reports gave conflicting accounts of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s decision on players’ required No Objection Certificates. The disagreement has left the team’s status and the PCB’s final position unclear. The Pakistan-Bangladesh fixture was postponed. The World Championship of Legends initially cited technical reasons, according to later coverage. Subsequent reports linked the delay to the NOC issue, but the available accounts do not establish that as the official reason for the postponement. Reports published October 4 said the PCB had refused NOCs to selected Pakistan Champions players, leaving the team unable to take part and ruling it out of the tournament. A report published October 5 said Pakistan Champions had confirmed it would not participate, attributing that confirmation to a television report. However, a separate account published the same day, citing people within WCL, said the PCB had agreed to issue NOCs subject to conditions.
