India Cricket Team Faces Kit and Hotel Issues Before Asian Games

The Indian men's cricket team is facing last-minute logistical challenges ahead of its departure for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) intervening to address kit sizing issues and inadequate accommodation arrangements. The team, captained by Shreyas Iyer, is scheduled to depart from New Delhi in the early hours of Sunday, September 20. However, some players were still awaiting correctly sized jerseys as of Saturday, September 19. The issue stems from the requirement for two different kits: a standard India jersey for a one-off T20I match against Japan on September 22, and the official Asian Games jersey for the main competition beginning September 28. An Indian Olympic Association (IOA) source confirmed that the majority of the sizing problems had been rectified, with the remaining kits expected to be delivered shortly. "There was a sizing issue in kits of cricketers, majority of them have been rectified. There are a few left and they will be delivered to the team shortly," the source said.
