Lamar Jackson Has a Chance to Return Against Cleveland
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has a realistic chance to return for Sunday’s Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns, according to a report Wednesday, but the team has not confirmed he will play. The report, citing a league source, said Jackson could be available for the AFC North matchup. Ravens coach Jesse Minter said Monday that Jackson was doing better, while cautioning that he did not know how Wednesday’s practice would look. Minter said the team expected to know more by the middle of the week. Jackson injured his ankle during Baltimore’s Week 4 win over the Tennessee Titans on October 4. He left before halftime and did not return. The injury kept him out of practice the following week and sidelined him for the Ravens’ Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons. The available updates do not confirm his practice participation or medical clearance for Cleveland. Tyler Huntley started in Jackson’s place as Baltimore beat Atlanta 30-23 in overtime. Huntley completed 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns, and scored the winning touchdown on a run. The victory improved Baltimore’s record to 4-1.
