Ravens Rule Lamar Jackson Out Against Falcons
The Baltimore Ravens ruled quarterback Lamar Jackson out of their Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons because of a left ankle injury, with Tyler Huntley set to start in his place. Jackson did not practice during the week after being hurt against the Tennessee Titans in the previous game. The Ravens announced the decision ahead of their Sunday night matchup in Atlanta. Jackson left the Tennessee game after the injury and did not return for the second half. The reports said he was seen leaving the stadium in a protective boot. Huntley completed eight of nine passes for 63 yards against Tennessee. Baltimore did not score on his five full offensive series, with four ending in punts and another ending after a missed 40-yard field goal. Those figures describe his limited work in that game, rather than a full start. The switch puts a familiar backup in charge of the offense. Huntley has started 11 games in place of Jackson, and the Ravens have won five of those starts and lost six, according to one account. He has also been responsible for five of Baltimore’s six victories in games Jackson missed, the same report said.
