Jack Harvey Diagnosed With Cancer, Maintains 2027 Goals

Published 13 October 2026

IndyCar driver and FOX pit reporter Jack Harvey says he has been diagnosed with cancer and is receiving care, while maintaining his stated goal of returning to the grid in 2027. Harvey announced the diagnosis in a social media post on October 13, saying he was receiving care and support from his family, friends, racing team Dreyer Reinbold Racing, FOX and others. The diagnosis and care details in the reports come from Harvey’s statement. He did not publicly identify the type or stage of cancer or provide a treatment timeline or prognosis. Harvey said his goals for 2027 had not changed. He plans to be on the grid in St. Petersburg and return to a race car in May ahead of the Indianapolis 500. Those are his stated intentions; the reporting does not confirm a future entry or establish whether his health will allow him to carry them out. The 33-year-old Briton has competed in IndyCar since 2017 and has raced in the Indianapolis 500 for Dreyer Reinbold Racing in recent seasons. He has also worked as a pit reporter and analyst on FOX’s IndyCar coverage over the past two seasons, combining broadcasting with his racing career.
