Holdout juror disputes account of Clancy trial deliberations

Published 14 October 2026

Michael Desronvil, the lone holdout in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial, said in a televised interview that he did not have reasonable doubt about her guilt, disputing another juror’s account of what he said during deliberations. The jury deadlocked, and the judge declared a mistrial on September 4, 2026; Clancy’s three first-degree murder charges remain in place after a judge rejected a motion to dismiss them. Desronvil spoke with interviewer Kayleigh McEnany about his vote and described tense moments during deliberations. He said he had evidence supporting his position but would not discuss it further out of respect for the other jurors and the court process. The interview renewed a disagreement over whether Desronvil expressed doubt in the jury room. Foreperson Roni Carlson said he had indicated he had reasonable doubt before refusing to find Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity. Desronvil, by contrast, said he did not have reasonable doubt. The available accounts do not resolve what he said during deliberations. Another juror, Paula Devlin, said Desronvil struggled to move past the fact that Clancy killed her children.
