Florida falls to No. 16 after loss to Missouri
Florida fell from No. 8 to No. 16 in the AP Top 25 after losing 45-17 to Missouri, which climbed to No. 14, according to the poll released Sunday. The defeat followed Florida’s rise into the top 10 the previous week and made the Gators’ ranking the largest change near the top of the latest poll. Missouri controlled the game at home, limiting Florida running back Jadan Baugh to 13 yards on 12 carries. The Tigers’ victory gave them a place in the top 15, while Florida dropped eight spots. The poll movement came after a week in which most highly ranked teams won or had a bye, leaving few changes among the leading positions. Texas remained No. 1, followed by Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami and Ohio State. Those five teams held the same places for a second consecutive week. Texas did not play Saturday; Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami and Ohio State each won. Alabama also won, beating Mississippi State 56-23 on the road, but remained outside the top five at No. 8 in the published rankings. BYU moved from No. 10 to No. 8 after a 17-10 road win over TCU. The Cougars improved to 4-0, while Missouri’s ranking placed it ahead of Florida in the new poll.
